Vero Beach Amateur Radio Club

Welcome New Hams, Old Hams and those who want to be Hams!
Welcome to the Vero Beach Amateur Radio Club (VBARC). We are an active club, with over 100 members. You can join us on the net multiple times a week, in person at our weekly breakfast, or on our radios in a local park. You don't need to be a member to join us. Become a Member

Field Day
Our club is participating in ARRL Field Day. ARRL Field Day is the single most popular on-the-air event held annually in the US and Canada. This weekend thousands of radio amateurs gather with their clubs, groups or simply with friends to operate from remote locations. If you want more info about ARRL Field Day, read this.

Our VBARC Field Day will be Jun 22-23 in the Agriculture Pavilion, at IRC Fairgrounds, Sat 2 pm - Sun 2 pm (24 hour event). We will have a “Get on the Air Radio Station”, that anyone can operate on. If you’re interested in amateur (or ham) radio, this is the place to be. Bring yourself, school kids, scouts, and anyone that wants to learn about amateur radio. Location: Indian River County Fairgrounds & Expo Center, 7955 58th Ave, Vero Beach, FL 32967. For questions, go to our Facebook page (see the link in the Facebook section below).  Here is a draft map to the Argriculture Pavilion, entering from the North Gate might be easiest.  <map> Don't forget a chair !

What's Cooking (What's up in the near future)
1. No official QRP this Saturday because of Field Day; likely some folks will be at the fingers anyway.
2. ARRL Field Day is 2 pm Sat to 2 pm Sunday, June 22-23. Arrive early Saturday if you want to help setup. John is working breakfast from 7 am to 9 am both days. Rick B and Eric L are organizing operators, frequencies and loggers. Please don't bring a Software Defined Radio (SDR), they are too noisy. We need youth and operators for the "Get-On-The-Air" (GOTA) station.  This event is open to the public and all are welcome.
3. Club House: Please contact John Davis and/or Jan van der Loos, see email addresses in member list, regarding the clubhouse activies and hours.
